Powabyke, the leading provider of electric bikes is delighted to announce that they are now providing electric scooters following the sales of over 25,000 Powabykes across the globe.
Further to expanding into the golf world with their Powaglyda 3-wheel stand on electric golf buggy which is taking golf courses by storm, Powabyke Ltd is now moving into the world of electric mopeds and scooters with their Powascoot range.
Powabyke’s range of scooter models include the all-aluminum “Helio” from eGO for transport solutions that don’t cost the earth – literally!
Nick Child , MD of Powabyke said, “With petrol prices rising, people are seeking alternative forms of transport. Our Powabyke range has been extremely popular for a number of years now and electric scooters is a naturally progression for the company.”
Nick continued, “We have a range of stylish and ultra-economical electric moped scooters perfect for commuting or for general runarounds. There are some real key benefits – no exhaust fumes, quiet and relaxing to ride, virtually maintenance free, no London congestion charge, and a range of 20-25 miles for just 8p! Our Powabyke customers may never need to rely on petrol again!”
The Powascooter models are contemporary-styled 4000e, the retro 168 and a striking twin-motor three-wheeler. All are powered by sealed lead-acid gel batteries and powerful hub motors. Top speed is up to 35mph and range is up to 30 miles, perfect for the urban commuter.
The Powascooter 168 recently featured on ITV’s Green Family documentary and in a recent Green Living supplement in The Times, the Powascooter 168 was described as “quick, snazzy and highly desirable – the Vespa of the 21st Century”.
The Helio has been a runaway success in its home market of the United States and is poised for great things here in Europe, where a new ‘Racing’ version, compete with five-spoke alloy wheels, has just been launched. The Helio, whose frame is guaranteed for 10 years, is capable of up to 25mph and has a range of around 20 miles.
All the scooters are fully approved for road use by the EC and require registration and insurance. They are exempt from road tax but still carry a disc. Riders whose car license was issued before February 2001 can ride without any form of test. Otherwise, they follow a traditional 50cc moped route, with CBT course and two years on L plates. Riders must wear a helmet.
These exciting new additions to the Powabyke line-up, which are also London congestion fee free, represent a move towards a network of environmentally friendly and economically sound vehicles.
