Journalists Go For Powa!

A leading provider of electric bikes and electric scooters is delighted to have been able to show their support at a recent London event held by SELTRANS and Thames Gateway London Partnership (TGLP).

“The Office of the Future” event took place aboard a riverboat in London to promote workplace Travel Planning and Sustainable Transport.  Jointly organized by the Thames Gateway London Partnership and SELTRANS sub regional bodies, the event was aimed at larger businesses in the boroughs of; Southwark, the City, Greenwich and Tower Hamlets

With a network of dealers across the country and excellent presence in London, Powabyke Ltd were extremely pleased to donate a top-of the-range 24-Speed Commuter model electric bike for one lucky delegate at the event to win.

The winner of the electric bike was Leigh Hatts.  Leigh is the Editor at the printing and publishing company Bankside Press , publishers of the leading community website www.London-SE1.co.uk and the monthly what's on guide 'in SE1', which is celebrating its 100th issue in October. Bankside Press will be treating the bike as a company bike, which will be available to all staff to use to get around the busy and often congested streets of London.

Leigh Hatts, Editor at Bankside Press said, “I was surprised and excited at winning the Powabyke. Here in the SE1 district of central London many of us try to avoid travelling by car. The bike will be available at our office for use by any member of the Bankside Press team when visiting or delivering in our area. Hopefully we might find that we are setting a trend in London!"

The 24-speed commuter Powabyke was provided by one of Powabyke’s London dealers - Powerscoots who are based in north London (N16). The 24-speed commuter is the ultimate electric bike for touring and commuting. Independent tests have shown this model is capable of a 34 mile range in “Power Assist” mode and incorporating full 24-speed Shimano gears is available in two scratch-resistant metallic paint finishes.

Nick Child, MD of Powabyke said “We are keen supporters of the SELTRANS project and the work they are doing to highlight the benefits of sustainable transport and we were extremely pleased to donate a Powabyke for this event. Bankside Press, the winners of the competition, have decided to use the bike as a company bike, which is an idea that is being employed by companies across the country. Powabyke’s range of electric bikes and scooters are an excellent way of getting around and don’t cost the earth – literally!”
