Ilminster Cycles and Leisure held a successful Powabyke demo day at the end of May to allow people to experience the benefits of their innovative electric cycles.

Powabyke, the leading provider of electric bikes, visited Ilminster Cycles and Leisure on 31st May with a selection of their vehicles. Members of the public were allowed to test ride the Powabykes and expert Frank Curran was available to answer any questions they had.

Supporting the move towards efficient and greener transport, the electric Powabyke range has been designed to give all the benefits of traditional cycling without the effort.

Powabykes can be recharged from any domestic mains plug socket, and the vehicles produce no emissions, requires no insurance, tax, license, MOT or fare paying. 
 
A battery driven 200w electric motor powers the bike with a handlebar-mounted throttle, so the rider can add as much or as little assistance as required.  With a top speed of 15mph and a generous range of about 20 miles per single charge, Powabyke is a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to a car.

It’s quite astonishing how much can be saved on trains, buses or even parking! With expensive parking charges being introduced around many British cities there really hasn’t been a better time for Powabyke.
