A bike business has grown and expanded to open a branch in Fareham.
Ray and Jean Clift who own Cycle Paths in Poole are delighted to have opened a second bike dealership in Hampshire. The second branch of Cycle Paths is situated at 159 West Street and opened on the 4th of July - and business has been booming!
Ray Clift opened the first branch of Cycle Paths, Poole in February of 1999 having previously worked for British Airways at Heathrow. A keen cycling enthusiast, Ray was eager to start his own business in an area that interested him.
The venture proved to be extremely successful and in its early days very topical, as the premises is situated in a large shopping centre, on the first floor and surrounded by other shops selling more mainstream items such as clothes and accessories. Cycle Paths replaced the crèche that had previously been at the site and business has gone from strength to strength.
The new Cycle Paths in Fareham replaces a business that had already established itself as a bike dealer. Cycle Paths have bought the stock and taken over the lease whilst broadening the range of bikes available.
Ray is very enthusiastic about the new business and said, “Opening our second branch is very exciting. We have built a very solid foundation in Cycle Paths Poole and decided that it was time to expand. The site in Fareham is a welcomed addition to the business and we are enjoying brining our new range of bikes to the customers there”.
The new and exciting Powabyke will be one of the brands joining the range. Powabyke has enjoyed global success with over 20,000 bikes sold a year, and is proving to be a hit all over the UK.
Supporting the move towards efficient and greener transport, the electric Powabyke has been designed to give all the benefits of traditional cycling without the effort.
It consumes no petrol or diesel, produces no emissions, requires no insurance, tax, license, MOT or fare paying. It is congestion charge exempt and can be driven in bus and cycle lanes. Recharging is simple, the battery can be plugged into any domestic main plug socket.
A battery driven 200w electric motor powers the bike with a handlebar mounted throttle, so the rider can add as much or as little assistance as required. With a top speed of 15mph and a generous range of about 20 miles per single charge, Powabyke is a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to a car.
The full range of Powabykes includes folding bikes, mountain bikes, shopper bikes and even a three-wheeled trike. For more information visit www.Powabyke.com or call (01225) 443737
